A leading technology website has claimed that Samsung’s R610-AS01UK is a "promising laptop".
PC Advisor’s Andrew Harrison found the computer to be "well finished and very well specified" when testing it, adding that the inclusion of a Blu-ray drive makes it "remarkable value".
According to the writer, the device’s 16-inch widescreen display is also the first Blu-ray enabled laptop tested by the website to include a full high-definition resolution.
"The screen itself is good in terms of quality as well as quantity," he explained on the website.
"Despite its high-gloss finish it’s legible thanks to its remarkable sharpness and clarity."
Praise for the Samsung laptop has come after Fujitsu Siemens announced details about a new offer which will see it give free laptops to its customers.
The company’s Lifebook 4 Life initiative will see anyone who buys one of its laptops between now and April become eligible to receive a replacement upgrade every three years for life.
