Mini-laptops might be all the rage with manufacturers but Samsung "is still pouring its heart into mid-sized machines", according to one expert.
Writing for Cnet, Rory Reid reveals the firm has produced a "good value" laptop in its new R410.
He said: "It … packs a 14.1-inch screen, a 1.83GHz CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, a DVD rewriter, a 1.3-megapixel webcam and Vista Home Premium."
While the device has "pretty generic" design, it is not offensive, he adds.
However, the device does only have three USB connections, something that could frustrate some users, Mr Reid points out.
Despite this, the device that is expected to retail at £499, still seems like a bargain, Mr Reid stated.
Last week, Asus announced that it is to launch a new gaming laptop.
According to the firm the G70 will offer "the highest level of extreme performance" and features dual graphics cards.
