Panasonic is the latest firm to update its laptops to feature the latest Intel Centrino 2 technology.
The company has announced that it will include the processors in its Toughbook CF-52 and CF-74 semi-rugged devices, reports Government Computer News (GCN).
According to the news provider the former has a 15.4-inch screen while the later sports a 13.3-inch display, both of which are viewable outdoors.
The website reports Panasonic as saying: "The drop and spill-tested Toughbooks also include durable design features such as magnesium alloy cases, flexible internal connectors, shock-mounted hard drives and spill-resistant keyboards."
(GCN) states that the new laptops will be on sale from August of this year and prices will start from around $1,949 (£975).
Panasonic is the latest in a growing list of manufactures who intend to make use of Centrino 2 technology.
Firms including Fujitsu, Lenovo and HP have already signalled their intention to implement the latest Intel chipset.
