A new "mini-laptop" designed to supply consumers with a simpler option has taken the planet by storm, it has been reported.
The Eee PC by Asustek is growing in popularity and it is anticipated that some five million units will sell this year alone, Business Week stated.
It asserted that bosses at the firm decided to go in a different direction to the remainder of the market and created a small laptop with a smaller price tag.
The machine retails for around $300 (£152) and is a hit with consumers who want a simpler computer, the online publication continued.
Jerry Shen, chief executive of the organisation, explained: "We changed the concept."
The company claims that the Eee PC is "easy to learn, easy to work, easy to play" and is designed to be accessible.
Furthermore, the lightweight laptop has built-in WiFi which automatically connects to the web when it is in a hotspot.
