The HP Pavilion TX12101AU is a "phenomenal" laptop, according to one reviewer.
According to Mobile Computing News, the latest effort from the manufacturer is "meant for an intelligent and demanding crowd".
The laptop comes with a 160GB hard drive, 2GB of memory, 12.1-inch screen and an AMD Turion 64 X2 Processor TL-56.
It also has Altec Lansing stereo speakers which, according to the website, are "renowned for high quality sound" and a headphone jack is also featured.
"Overall, this Pavilion model offers moderate performance at a reasonable affordable price," the news provider states.
Anyone looking for a more powerful laptop might want to look at the Alienware m15x device.
Eclipse Magazine points out that although the top-of-the-range version of the laptop costs around $5,000 (£2,500) it is one of the best performing computers around.
The publication also stated that it can play demanding games such as Crysis and Call of Duty 4 on their maximum detail settings.
