Computer manufacturer Fujitsu Siemens has announced details about its plans to offer its customers free laptops.
The company has revealed that anyone who buys one of its Lifebook range between now and April will be eligible to receive a replacement upgrade every three years for life.
Called the Lifebook 4 Life initiative, the ability of consumers to take advantage of the offer involves them agreeing to several terms and conditions.
Jason Howe, a marketing manager for Fujitsu Siemens, told IT Pro that the scheme would give the company "a relationship" with its clients.
He added: "We can then market to that customer and sell on other things such as hosting and accessories."
Details about the offer come after Hewlett Packard announced the launch of a new laptop.
The new TouchSmart tx2 notebook PC features a 12.1-inch touchscreen display designed to make it easier for people to access files while on the move.
According to the firm, the device can also be used as a traditional portable computer.
