Asus is trying something innovative and is releasing a laptop dedicated to gaming, according to one technology news website.
It is reported by Absolute Gadget that in typical fashion the firm is trying something brave and the end product "looks pretty cool".
Reviewer Rene Millman notes the new G70 notebook features an Intel Core 2 Duo T9500, which runs as 2.6GHz, 4GB of DDRII 667MHz of memory that makes Windows Vista run "the way it should".
The website adds the gaming laptop also has 2x Nvidia GeForce 8700M GT DDR3 512 MB in SLI and 640GB of hard drive storage and operates with Vista Home Premium.
Asus have opted for a "whopping" 17-inch TFT screen with 1,440 x 900 native resolutions and is packed with accessories including the Razer Copperhead mouse and a "nifty" rucksack for transportation, the review notes.
"The display is great, considering it’s a laptop. Playing a variety of games proved it was capable of performing with the like of Crysis and all that. Disabling the touchpad means that you can move around the keyboard without accidentally brushing the pad," the reviewer adds.
Asus claims to be a technology-orientated firm and in 2006 shipped 55 million motherboards.
