Apple praised for green laptopsGreenpeace has praised Apple for its continuing efforts to reduce toxic materials in it laptops.

According to the pressure group, it is good to see someone like Steve Jobs devoting "significant time" to green issues.

The comments come after Apple launched a new range of MacBooks at an event last week.

"Compared to where Apple was before Tuesday, its laptops are definitely better. That in and of itself is a good thing. But not all toxic pieces have been eliminated yet," a spokesperson from Greenpeace stated.

According to Mr Jobs, the firm is on course to meet its target of removing PVC, brominated flame retardants, mercury and arsenic from its products by the end of 2008.

Meanwhile, those looking for a netbook might be interested to know that the Acer Aspire One is the best such device around, according to IT News.

According to the news provider, the laptop is "gorgeous" and is "fantastically usable".
