Acer’s Aspire one is different to the array of similar laptops released in response to the Asus Eee PC, according to one technology news website.
IT News reports the device offers an assortment of hardware and easily trumps the Eee PC 701 in terms of specification and is even hot on the heels of the 900 and 901 models.
The laptop is "gorgeous" to look at and feels sturdy despite being enviably light weighing 980 grams, the site notes .
Its basic specification is the Intel Atom N270 processor running at 1.6GHz, 512MB of RAM, an 8GB solid-state drive and 802.11b/g networking.
"Regardless of which model you choose, the Aspire one is fantastically usable. It’s a couple of centimetres wider than its Eee-branded rivals, and Acer has put that extra space to good use," the review concludes.
Meanwhile, mobilewhack.com reports that Acer has added a new consumer desktop to its Lifestyle Line, the X3200, which costs from $680 (£395).
