Ricoh Aficio SP 4100N Mono Laser Printer ‘remarkably easy to use’

The Ricoh Aficio SP 4100N Mono Laser Printer has been described as "remarkably easy to use" in a review.

Simon Williams from trustedreviews.com said that the "high capacities" of both ink cartridges and maintenance kit means that the service costs for the device "should be low".

Both the installation process and the device’s control panel were also praised for being "straightforward" by the reviewer.

During printing tests, the Aficio SP 4100N was found to produce a five-page text print in 18 seconds which equates to a top speed of 20 pages per minute.

An A4 picture document was printed in 48 seconds, but Mr Williams warned that the print quality of the colour photo "wasn’t good".

"A lot of the greyscale detail was lost, with many of the darker tones veering to black and obvious micro-banding showing in areas of sky," he said.

"There was also a paler, vertical band through the image and the machine’s ability to reproduce photos is called into question."

Ricoh recently received high marks in the 2008 Annual Report Card from Everything Channel’s VARBusiness survey.
