A reviewer has said that the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 us "an excellent webcam".
Rob Clymo from PC Advisor has said that the peripheral device might be seen by many as "a bit pricey" for a webcam, but those that splash the extra money will get a camera that gives users "better quality results overall".
The QuickCam Pro 9000 shoots at resolutions of up to 1,600 x 1,200 pixels and also features a built-in microphone and power-on button.
According to the reviewer, the device can be used right away without the need for installation software via a USB 2.0 socket.
"We found the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000’s picture quality impressive, having both clarity and a decent exposure level," wrote Mr Clymo.
"The design is contemporary, while a flexible multi-angle stand lets you mount it just about anywhere."
ZDnet.com recently reported that the use of a webcam is now favoured by students across the UK as opposed to a phone call.
