Diadora are the perfect trainers for fans of retro sneakers, according to its vice-president of sales.
Mark Wachter has spoke to the Seattle Times and said that it aims a lot of its ranges at "sneakerheads", those people who may not actually participate in sport but may appreciate the "funky colour combinations" of the shoes.
Diadora, which has retail outlets across Europe, South America and Asia, sells a line of trainers based upon those worn by tennis legend Bjorn Borg in the 70s and 80s.
Mr Wachter adds that his company’s shoes are for "that one kid who wants to set himself apart".
"There are more and more kids out there looking for new styles," he added.
"Diadora is more of an obscure brand. That can be good because it’s perceived to be more exclusive."
Diadora was recently confirmed as the company set to supply the new shirt for the Scottish national football team.
The shirt will be worn throughout the team’s qualification campaign for World Cup 2010.
