Crocs ‘among the greenest footwear’

Crocs 'among the greenest footwear'Crocs have been revealed to be one of the greenest form of footwear available to consumers in the UK.

In new article for the Observer newspaper, Lucy Siegle stated that the shoes can be ideal for those who want to become eco-friendly due to them being created through a single mould.

She added that they are also generally more durable than many other types of shoes, meaning there is less chance of people needing to regularly replace them.

The writer went on to explain that the shoes are also the subject of a website’s recycling initiative.

She wrote for the newspaper: "To offload, you’ll need a £2.50 bag through fatshoesday.co.uk. The crocs are then remade into shoes for developing countries."

Eco-friendly and ethical fashion is becoming a growing trend in the UK.

At the end of last week, Turkish designer Bora Aksu launched a new range of ethical clothing for People Tree.

The batwing dresses are available in chambray, cotton and silk and feature unique designs hand-signed by people who tailored them.
