A leading high street retailer in the UK has unveiled a new wedding dress that it is selling for £100.
The bridal outfit from BHS has been designed for those looking to tie the knot on a budget in the near future and consists of a strapless top, an A-line skirt and shoes.
It is believed that the company is one of several high street brands, including Marks & Spencer, to release ‘credit crunch clothing’ for weddings.
Bryony Toogood, fashion editor of Brides magazine, told the Belfast Telegraph that the BHS outfit is "an amazing deal" for people who want a "traditional, simple dress".
She added: "It’s a classic shape that suits most people, and looks very chic and simple."
Carol Richardson of wedding website Confetti recently claimed that the economic downturn is encouraging women to reuse their wedding dresses.
She told the Daily Record that people are often choosing to change the outfits into ball gowns.
