Handheld vacuums ‘useful for pet owners’

Handheld vacuum cleaners have been highlighted by a writer as useful appliances for people who own cats or dogs.

Paula Robinson of the Daily Telegraph has stated that it is "worth investing" in one of the devices if you own pets as they can be used to effectively keep a room clear of hairs.

Writing in the newspaper, she also explained that a leading manufacturer of vacuum cleaners has created a model which could be particularly beneficial to them.

"Dyson makes a model especially for pet hair - it’s named the Animal," she wrote in the article.

She added that the company’s specialist appliance retails for around £130 in the UK.

Ms Robinson’s comments about handheld vacuums have come after Bissell recently launched a new full-size cleaner.

The Healthy Home model features enhanced pet hair pick-up, HEPA filtration systems and multi-cyclonic technology.

Charles Gordon, the company’s international markets director, also described the new system as the firm’s "most powerful vacuum yet".
