Electrolux, Hoover and Kenmore vacuums ‘top of the tree’

The best vacuum cleaner depends on your needs but the Electrolux Oxygen EL6988D, Kenmore Progressive 35922 and Hoover Windtunnel Bagless S3765-040 are three of the best, according to one consumer group.

Consumer Reports tested 61 vacuum cleaners and found the Electrolux Oxygen EL6988D to be the best canister cleaner, App.com reports.

The Kenmore Progressive 35922 was voted the best upright vacuum, while the Hoover Windtunnel Bagless S3765-040 cleaned up in the bargain buy category.

According to App.com, which of these cleaners is most suitable for an individual depends on what they are looking for from a cleaner.

It said: "Experts agree the most efficient vacuum cleaners remain the upright and canister models with a paper bag rather than a filter.

"The choice between the two may depend on the layout of a home and whether you want to push or pull the machine."

Yesterday, Tech Digest reported that Electrolux is set to launch a new range of affordable vacuum cleaners.
