A major appliance manufacturer has launched a new environmentally friendly vacuum cleaner.
Electrolux’s Ultra Silencer Green system has been designed to use around a third less energy than a standard vacuum, while noise pollution created by the appliance is also thought to be lower.
According to Smarthouse, the body of the cleaner also features recycled plastic, with 90 per cent of the entire device apparently being recyclable.
Bianca Speller, Electrolux’s floor care and small appliances marketing manager, told the website: "A cleaner environment starts at home.
"Reducing the energy use of the appliance is extremely important as usage by consumers represents 75 percent of the product’s total environmental impact over its life cycle."
Launched in Australia, no release date has yet been published for the product’s UK launch.
Electrolux is one of the world’s largest domestic and professional appliance manufacturers.
The company sells around 40 million products, including washing machines, ovens and refrigerators, in over 150 markets every year.
