Navman has released a new range of satellite navigation systems that give prominent buildings 3D dimensions.
The S30 3D, S50 3D, S70 3D, present more than 1,000 buildings across Europe in 3D to make it easier for motorists to identify landmarks while driving.
Navman Connect and InstantFixll technology also features which Navman claims can reduce the time needed for a satellite lock down time to as little as five seconds.
Priced at £100, the S30 3D has a 3.5-inch screen and UK-only maps, the £130 S50 3D a 4.3-inch screen and Bluetooth while the £150 S70 3D also has a 4.3-inch screen and Bluetooth but adds maps for the whole of Europe.
In related news, a study by Braunschweig Technical University has found motorists who use speech recognition software while driving are safer than those who control in-car devices manually.
The research, which was released by Nuance Communications, found that drivers who use a satellite navigation system with speech recognition were ten times less likely to swerve within a single lane than those without the technology, Channel 4 News reports.
