Available online, the game has been inspired by the 2008 Mini Clubman’s "unique split-rear barn-style door design", the company said in a statement.

"The Mini brand is all about exhilaration, fun and experiencing the unexpected. We are thrilled to introduce the latest addition to the family, the Mini Clubman, to the world of the Wii," remarked Mini USA’s marketing and communications manager Kate Alini.

The release of the game follows an announcement from Nintendo that it is to launch a new online archive to enable users to download games for Wii consoles.

Launched in America on Monday, WiiWare - which will be updated each Monday - will be available in Europe from May 20th.
