Graduate wins shoe design competitionOne lucky design graduate has won the chance to showcase his talents at an international fashion house.

Liam Fahy, who attended De Montfort University, wowed the judges of the Fashion Fringe Shoes initiative, reports the the Daily Telegraph.

He will now undertake a salaried apprenticeship at the company of judge Rupert Sanderson.

Speaking to the newspaper, Mr Fahy said: "This is such an incredible opportunity for any young shoe designer and it has only just sunk in that I have won."

Other judges included Paula Reed of Grazia and Sebastian Manes, of Selfridges.

Fashion Fringe was set up in 2004 with the aim of reinvigorating the UK’s fashion industry.

It aims to help introduce "new sustainable talent" to the industry and searches for such people nationwide.

The company was founded by Colin McDowell MBE, a fashion historian and writer for the Sunday Times Style Magazine.
