Centrino 2 laptops 'should appeal to everyone'The latest range of processors from Intel should be featured in laptops that will appeal to all consumers, it has been claimed.

Writing for Australian IT, Fran Foo explains that the new Centrino 2 chipsets will power both business and entertainment laptops.

She says: "Codenamed Montevina, the Centrino 2 machines cater to a wide range of users from gamers and high-definition, multimedia-hungry users to small and medium-sized businesses."

The new processors should offer consumers better performance, higher quality graphics, longer battery life and other power-saving enhancements, she adds.

According to Intel, the laptops should be 1.5 times faster than their predecessors and people will be able to watch a Blu-ray movie on one battery charge.

Yesterday, Tech Radar claimed that the Rock Pegasus 520 will be one of the best Centrino 2 laptops on the market when it is released.

According to the news provider, the system will be ideal for people looking for a high-end gaming system.
