Asus has shipped the latest addition to its popular Eee PC range.
The Eee PC 1000, which was unveiled last month, has a 10-inch 1024 x 600 display and comes with and Intel Atom CPU with 1GB of memory.
A six-cell battery offers 7.5 hours of life when simple tasks are performed with the laptop’s wireless turned off.
Two versions of the notebook are on offer, a Linux-based model with a 40GB flash solid state drive and a Windows-XP version with a 80GB hard disk drive, priced at £369 and £349 respectively.
Similar to previous Eee PC models, the new device is available in either glossy black or pearl white and features a webcam.
Asus’s Eee PC 900, launched earlier this year, has a smaller 8.9-inch display but is also available in two models - one running on Windows CP with a 12GB solid state hard disk and the other on Linux with a 20GB solid state hard disk, IT Pro reports.
